Seemingly all of sudden, we’re together again, at SPAC, celebrating life, music, summer and all that the festival represents to each of us as individuals and as a community. A few weeks ago, I watched the PBS American Masters documentary on Roberta Flack and was blown away by how diverse her repertoire was in the late 1960s and into the early 1970s. She could play and sing it all” and stuck to her guns against all that the music business” and society threw at her. Hers is a story of talent, knowledge, fortitude, grace, and power.
